I always thought, when I cried
The rain would wash away my tears
So I cried in the rain, & the hurt was still thereSoaked in heartache from the pain
Drenched in betrayal, in a heap of disdain
The raindrops left streaks of regretFlashes of lightning torment, scarred my heart
Emotions of thunderous turmoil in my head
Howling winds of loss, a future gone too fast!A past swept by floods, of empty promises
I sobbed in a hail storm bruising my confidence
The rain stopped, Ieft me in a lonely messAlone & lonely, I fell apart in the rain
But I pulled myself together, & faced the storm
Found my strength & learnt my lessonsI’m glad for the rain, it unclogged my heart
I’m grateful for the storm, it woke up my brain
Never again, will I be crying in the rain!©️ C Akui 2020/08/30#Carolsinsights
